In the legendary Food Hall of KaDeWe, known as Die Sechste, tradition and modernity merge into a unique brand. Inspired by the historic architecture of the Berlin landmark, the iconic façade serves as the central key visual and graphic grid for the packaging. Additionally, two exclusive typefaces were developed from the iconic wordmark.

Context

Development of a private label for the legendary gourmet hall on the sixth floor of KaDeWe 
— also known as the “Die Sechste” or the culinary heaven above Berlin.

Concept

The brand icon deserves an own iconic brand portfolio - the concept “Die Sechste” quotes the history and architecture of the Berlin landmark.The famous façade becomes the key visual and graphic grid for all applications.Two new corporate typefaces are created from the defining wordmark.

Creation

The interplay of old and new creates a modern appearance that preserves the history of the KaDeWe and continues the KaDeWe's history at the same time. 

The private label translates KaDeWe's iconic identity into a contemporary, powerful visual language that seamlessly blends tradition and modernity – and the success speaks for itself: The products have become true customer favorites in the market.

The architecture of the key visual inspires versatile product illustrations – iconic, detailed, and unmistakably KaDeWe.
